I'm singin' in the rain...and we all know how bad that sounds!

It's a rainy day in Hoi An, Vietnam...and good old Mr. Corona is waxing nostalgic...I've got a lot of good friends...Simon and Garfunkel's "Old friends" should be playing in the background (believe me, I tried!)...friends that have thrown up in the gutter with me (who pukes white?), or held my hand when I've been there on my own...stood by me when I had to apologize to almost everyone in town...had some of the greatest parties ever (the corn roast), nursed me through life threatening tequila, crazy weekends at my cottage, rides to school in the rain...all round good friends...fortunately, we all have them!  Mr. Corona toasts all those great friends...the ones that you can't help but smile when you just think their names!  The first photos are quiet, semi-abstract...(cringe) nice photos...

"Old friends"...waiting for the sunset.

Well, enough of that shit...let's have a drink!  AHHHHHHHHHH!  I can only take that crap so far, then I CRACK!  A little alcohol in my system and I'm good to go!  Back in the day, my buds Bob and Bev let me behind the bar in "THE JAIL"...TOOK THE TOWN A WEEK TO SOBER UP!
Who's that skinny sucker anyway?  Where was I...oh ya, we walked around town in the rain...because it's raining here!  Hmmmm...anyway...walking in the rain makes me thirsty...guess what we did?  Drinkypoo!!!  Must be a tough bar... here's the maitre (how do you spell D?)...
...not to worry...kind of a pussy place with flowers in the middle of the food...Mr. Corona hangs out in places where spit is in the middle of yer food.....ok, YUCK!...that's a lie!
...it was an artsy place, so they had artsy stuff on the artsy F'n wall...
...I refuse to know nuthin' about that shit....hey, look at this old lady...
...hey, I think I'm....GOTTA GO!

  1. Many of your pics look like the French Impressionists. Couldn't be that old French influence in Vietnam could it? Somethin bout that rain in Nam. Beautiful stuff. Looks like you guys are having a great trip. Seeing that young guy behind the bar reminded me of me. Now I need a drink.

  2. Doug, as always, I'm speechless over your photographs. Who is that guy at the bar? I don't think I've ever known him.....

I have been dormant for the last two weeks but am now waking up and following your blogs with anticipation. I'm sure I'll come up with something appropriately rude!

    It's frosty here.
