Sri Lanka...sounds like....

We are off to another great adventure...this time to Sri Lanka.  Some might say "where the hell is Sri Lanka?"...how should I know...I'm not sure I even spelled it right!  It's a long time on a couple of different airplanes, so it must be off the coast of Vancouver Island somewhere.  Santa has promised a new camera, so the pics should improve some...what am I saying...that depends on how cold the beer is!  Cassandra tells me it's warm there...oh...my pants just fell off!  Time to practice getting...uh...smart!  Cheers!  ....oh, sorry about that smell.

Last night in...uh...Lake Moscow!

Russia isn't all bad...we went snorkeling in Lake Moscow today...a little chilly, but manageable.  Once we broke through the ice, the water was very clear...here is Mr. Corona himself!

 

I know, I know...I thought it was a whale when I first saw that picture too!

 I think maybe we're too close to Chernobyl because this strange, underwater flying thing went by...what kind of underwater bird has a tail like that?  Just asking...    

 

The Weather Channel say's it's snowing all around us, but it's nice in Lake Moscow...the water's a funny colour though...

 ...I guess this guy is commuting on some kind of little boat...I'd be concerned about those underwater, flying birds if I had to get around that way!

We played the Lake Moscow Golf Course today...not a bad little course really...there's ball monsters in that lake though!

Sadly, all miserable winter vacations have to come to an end.  Yes, we'll glow in the dark when we get home...but I've got a glow on at the best of times!  People have asked us what Russia is really like...how the hell do I know....WE WERE IN THE TURKS AND CAICOS Gastonguay-Beaudry's!  NA NA NANANA!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok...so we aren't in Moose Jaw...

I know I didn't fool anyone with the Moose Jaw thing...I don't think I worded it properly...I should have said "Guess where we are?"...then picked the furthest guess...or picked the Gastonguay-Beaudry's guess...uh, unless they guessed where we are, then I could say Moose Jaw!  That'd fool em!  Cassandra thought that was a great idea...

Hey...Moose Jaw is all right!!!

Here in Moose Jaw, they call me Mr. Turks Head...among other things.  They speak Moose Jaw-ese so I don't really know what they are saying...it sounds sort of like MissaBumasssss, which I think looses a lot in translation!  Here in Moose Jaw...ahem...MOOSE JAW, we stay at the indoor mall...big place...hard to find us in the big mall...most people wouldn't even try!  Looks nice when you first get to the fake beach...

 ...they even have other fake hotels...this one looked nice...I think the Gastonguay-Beadry's are staying in that one...

...it was sooooo real looking that I took this of Cassandra in front of it...

...not bad for a mall in MOOSE JAW!  The sunset they do is pretty cool too...how do they do that?

Red alert!!!!!

Watch out!!!...there was a new comment on the blog today...those sneaky Gastonguay-Beaudry's followed us to Hanoi and almost caught us.  Those guys are harder to shake than the Russians!!!  I think there are Russians here too...maybe I'm just jumpy after that comment.  So we are in an undisclosed place...I'll bet you never thought Moose Jaw was sunny, and warm, with a nice beach this time of year huh...are you listening Gastonguay-Beaudry's?...ya...we're in Moose Jaw...come and get us...I dare ya!!!  So it was a nice day in Moose Jaw today...but when we left Toronto to go to Moose Jaw, it looked like this...

...but when we woke up this morning, we decided to play golf, but had to have a Corona first...

 

...and because it was Valentines Day, I ordered this special for Cassandra!

 ...that inspired her to bounce this shot off the clubhouse, and into the hole for a hole-in-one on a par 4!

...and THEN...uh...and then the mayor of Moose Jaw came out of the water...uh...cuz we're in Moose Jaw...hear that Gastonguay-Beaudry's...MOOSE JAW!

...SO THAT'S IT FROM MOOSE JAW!

Yes amigos...the quest for "Endless Summer" is on again!...and the beer is cold!  Winter got ya down?  I'm singlehandedly going to make winter seem like a good alternative for all the tourists that come into contact with me!  I'm not going to vomit on everyone...but maybe!

Once and for all...

You guys are really pissing Mr Corona off!!!  We go off to the Internet inaccessible islands in southern Thailand for 2 weeks, and when we finally get back to Internet land, there are 3 whining emails from people who say they were reading but weren't...well, maybe they were...saying it's about time I stopped writing that bull all the time...they have lives...Coronation Street is still on! HA, I say!  We left Bangkok after a few days, and flew to a little town (that we are in right now!) called Trang.  Then we took a minibus, and longtail boat to Koh Kradan...

...where we saw this from our front porch, and the sunrises (yes, I really saw them!) look like this...

...I know, I know...it's hard to take a bad pic of tropical sunrises...well you come here and battle the mosquitoes at 6am to get those shots!  This was our quaint little beach shack...

...the only way to have a warm shower was to shower in the afternoon when the pipes had heated up the water by cooking in the sun all day!  We were in the jungle for all intents and purposes...so the mosquitoes held us prisoners until the sun was well up.  I thought I would pay homage to my old commercial days with a shot of my cheap, knockoff Ray Bans!

...Cassandra was busy writing the truth about what was happening to us...

After almost a week of great snorkeling, food, and relaxing...and a few Coronas, we moved to Koh Bulon Leh, where the REAL mosquitoes, fire ants, scorpions, and red vipers roam!  Bulon Leh, where anything that eats insects is FAT, FAT, FAT!!!!  There were monitor lizards up to 5 feet, not much snorkeling, cloudy, and rainy skies, but really good food...and cold beer.  We only got electricity for a few hours a day, but this is what we saw from our porch...

...and there was this little bar that brought back some fond memories...

...there were nice flowers too...

...after a week of being best friends with the mosquito coil, we decided it was time to go home....so this morning we got on a boat, hired a car, and at about noon, were back in Trang!

...tomorrow, very early in the morning, we fly out of Trang to Bangkok, Taipei, and Vancouver!  Mr. Corona...over and out!
