It seems I'm getting shorter. I thought as much when, before we left, I went out to buy a patch cord with my neighbour, Dave. Dave walks fast...Mr. Corona was much like a Jack Russell dog being taken for a walk by a speed walker. Now Dave is roughly 12 feet tall, and walks like Superman flies, F'n fast! On a slow day, Dave approaches warp speed while shuffling! Here I am trying to keep up with him, and talk...have you ever tried to talk and run flat out at the same time? Did I mention Dave the Bastard has a blown out knee? Dave doesn't know he's fast...I guess that means condolences to his wife, Jackie. You probably don't think living next door to the human skyscaper means I'm getting shorter...but I am, and I'm getting to that. As you can tell from the last post, I wore out a perfectly good pair of sandals today, trying to keep up with Cassandra...who it so happens, also has a blown out knee! It always starts innocently enough...we'll take the LRT up to blah blah blah stop, and the Samsung store is right there...I'll get my phone fixed! So we start...go to blah blah blah stop, no store...it was here yesterday...oh, wait...maybe it was 15 miles that way...let's go! 15 miles later...nope...oh, I remember now...it's 7 miles back...boy, what a nice day for a walk! (a good pair of sandals later) Hmmmmmm...ya know it was in a white building on the corner...ya see any of those 'round here...? So I finally asked "where the hell are we going?"...she shows me these directions...

...obviously, these directions are Greek to Mr. Corona. She says, let's take a left here...we end up at the National Ballet...
...nope, no Samsung here...oh ya...now I remember, it's only 3 miles that way...I know it for sure this time...it's a white building...it was there yesterday. We now enter the only white building free zone in Bangkok. Along the way...the considerable way............we spot some sort of a design museum...another one of the 10,000 buildings we investigate that doesn't have the Samsung Service Center in it...
...lookie there...a Mr. Corona lamp!
...and a movie theatre...
...now, anyone who read this in the past, know the Russians have played a large part in my life of travel...
...RUSSIAN!!!...
...and I think even the boy of the day is suspect.
Be careful out there!
You would have thought that a guy that flew with TransAir many times as you did would look upon his Philippine Airlines experience as "5 star". After all it's not as if they served you Bannock and Pemmican with a side of moose sweetbreads.
ReplyDeleteKeeping up with Cassandra is always difficult when you lose your Marty McFly hoverboard going through customs (along with your passport) but cheer up, you can hire a gaggle of Thais to carry you around for $1.29 a day.
It sounds like you have had a great start to your adventure and we are glad that Mr Corona is back in the saddle.
We hope that you get to the root of your teeth problems soon and are eagerly waiting for the novocaine to wear off.

PAL airplanes were built at about the same time as TransAir, but with less sophistication!
