Is Saigon?

...nope...turns out Sai is still here...and BUSY!!!!  We got in about midnight HCMC time...got into our room, showered and hit the sack.  Sure enough, I slept for 5 hours, and only had to pee 62 times!  The last time I got up, it was starting to get light, and I just had to look out our window...we are in one of only 2 rooms on the top floor of the hotel!  This is our first sunrise in Saigon!
Right below me on the street, was a banana vendor...
...and just off to the right, the sun caught a building just perfectly!
So, we got ourselves up...discovered we were REALLY HUNGRY...and Cassandra turned me on (as she always does!) to Vietnamese coffee!  Think of a double mocha espresso...the most delicious one you've ever had!!!  If I have 2 of these every morning, I might take up sprinting again!!!
...and just outside the cafe was this spectacular old lady...
After breakfast, Cassandra bought these things from a street vendor...they are tasty...but because they aren't called beer, I don't know what they are!
Most of you have been around long enough to remember those riveting images of the evacuation of Saigon...well this is the building they were helicoptering people off!
...and this is a beautiful flower we saw...
...in front of this impressive building...which isn't called beer, so I don't know what it is.
...and this is Mr. Corona pickin' up hot chicks in Saigon!
Introducing the President, Saigon chapter, of the Mr. Corona Hells Angels!
This has been a mighty first day...come to Saigon amigos...it's an experience you will NEVER forget!!!

  1. The women were very amused when Mr Corona showed them a photo he took of them. No language barrier here!
